New Remainder Minimus SL Golf game Shoe - Review Thread

I'll exist completely honest when nosotros were called to review these shoes I had slightly mixed feelings. On one side I Honey golf shoes! I take a pretty healthy collection and always love trying new models out. On the flip side when I call back of New Remainder I typically recall of shoes that are worn by "seasoned" individuals. Ok, I pic them as older people shoes. I know that New Balance has made strides to improve that image lately but it'south still what pops in my head. With that picture in my head I was very curious what the shoes would expect like that we were receiving because we did not know what model we were being sent. Fortunately, I could not have been more incorrect. These take style!

The first thing that popped out to me when unboxing was the brilliant yellow. Dang, New Balance actually uses colors! Second was how nice of a texture the grey portion of the shoe has. I've tried to capture that texture hither:

Every bit I picked them up out of the box it took me by surprise how low-cal weight they are. Granted I probably should take been tipped by the "Minimus" proper noun. Yes folks, I'grand a quick one. I went and compared how heavy they feel to a couple other spikeless shoes I own and these are very like if not even lighter than those other brands.

While lightweight is a great feature it too brings some concern about their comfort and durability. While I cannot give any feedback on immovability even so I can say that wearing these effectually the house and walking around outside these seem quite comfortable. This is very express feel and so far just the feel is non incredibly "squishy" when walking but they give a solid, soft experience in my brief experience. I am very curious on how my anxiety feel afterward 18 holes.

The other smashing affair about spikeless shoes is how nice it is to be able to walk straight from the course and straight in to the store, work, home, etc. Looking at the bottom of the shoe it appears that they should supply plenty of grip on the course yet could easily exist used a casual walking shoe. Just walking around the house they experience very comfortable and have no sliding bug from the grips and little nubs.

And just a couple more pictures.

I'll be getting these on the course for their first run at some point this week and am really excited to encounter how they perform. If there are whatever questions brand sure to burn away!

I notice that the "previous" NBG1005 Minimus is a trivial stiff in the uppers, particularly in the achilles expanse. Do you know if this has inverse with the NBG1006 SL?

Best spikeless traction system on the marketplace IMO, nigh equally grabby equally FootJoy's but much more durable.

Best spikeless traction system on the market place IMO, almost every bit grabby equally FootJoy'south but much more durable.

Off the meridian of my head I'm not sure certain just I can do a little digging and meet if they accept made whatsoever changes. It's definitely something I'll pay attention to as I wear them.

I was able to get some swings in while wearing these today when I striking a big bucket of balls on the range and spent well-nigh 45 minutes on the putting green. Granted information technology wasn't actually walking a form but I came away very happy. The biggest compliment that I tin give these is that I didn't really notice them while practicing which is definitely a good thing. My feet felt comfy the whole time and I had no problems with breaking them in. The ground conditions were almost perfect and the traction I was getting during swings seemed equally proficient as what I experience with spiked shoes. They seem to be breaking in speedily above my toes and I'chiliad seeing a nice crease starting to course already which is better than some shoes I've experienced.

One matter I'm curious on is how the rubber "nubs" hold up over time. While they seem to provide skillful traction their rubber compound send like something that might wear pretty hands merely fourth dimension will tell.

Walking effectually on the green for 45 minutes these were extremely comfy and while they didn't feel overly cushiony, still felt very supportive. I'one thousand really looking forward to getting on the grade with them hopefully this week sometime.

I have found New balance to be the most comfortable for my flat broad feet on running shoes (only I never run) and was just looking at picking up a pair of these to examination out.
Couldn't notice much in the way of reviews so I am looking forward to seeing your feedback on these.

One thing I noticed is that there is a proficient amount of room in the toe box yet not and so much that my feet skid around, at to the lowest degree on the range. I have somewhat wide feet and they fit me well.

Looking frontward to hearing more of your thoughts on these, Kev. I will exist honest, I'm not in love with the await only they practice appear to be very comfortable! Sometimes function has to win out over style....but I only don't know if that's the instance here or not. I'll be tuned in for more than for sure!

I call up yous may exist surprised when you encounter them in person. I mean they definitely aren't the nigh athletic looking shoe but compared to other New Balance models they are pretty sporty.

I recently bought the Tour (Spiked) model of this shoe... Holy crap is it comfortable. I bought it in an extra broad, and I swear I'm never buying standard width golf shoes once more in my life. I could walk an endless amount of holes in these and never experience whatever foot discomfort.

Hey thanks for the review! I accept a pair of these in my shopping cart for my son. We need to discover some in a store so he can try on for sizing. He wears a 12.5 in New Balance simply these aren't bachelor in 12.5. He wears 13 in Nike & Adidas so we'll come across...

Its sort of hard to detect waterproof spikeless and since he'll be playing every morn here in a few weeks until schoolhouse starts that's a must. The other perk is they come in a greyness and orange color scheme which will go well with his highschool colors. He'll be a senior and is really hoping to brand varsity...

I snuck out for a quick nine holes over lunch and got some play in these. Unfortunately I had to make it quick so I used a cart but still got plenty of steps in.

So far I really don't accept anything bad to say about them. They were super comfy and provide a lot of support throughout the swing. I know grip is e'er brought up with spikeless shoes but these performed fantastic and I never felt like I lost grip. It will be interesting to see how the grip reacts when it gets really dry out or when information technology's wet.

Really the only affair I tin say negative virtually them is that my feet did seem to become warm. Still, information technology was about 90 degrees and humid out and I'one thousand not sure any shoes would take been better. The other dainty thing is that any dirt I accumulated during the circular was really easy to clean off. I think these may stay looking new for awhile.

So far so skilful with these!

I got the adventure to throw these in play yesterday when I walked 27 holes and I can honestly say they were the highlight of my twenty-four hours.

I haven't played much golf game at all and it's probably been nigh 3 weeks since I last walked during my round. I was a picayune concerned about not being in "walking shape" and didn't know how I'd hold upwards for 27 holes.

Turns out I shouldn't accept been concerned at all. These shoes are absolutely phenomenal! Here are some of the highlights:

- we received over 5 inches of pelting this calendar week and the course was SOGGY! These kept my anxiety bone dry out the whole time. They were too extremely easy to clean upward and a quick wipe with a clammy towel made them look brand new.

- something that really stood out to me was the ankle support. These seem to come upwards a little closer to the talocrural joint than some of my other pairs but not to the indicate of information technology beingness a uncomfortable. I feel like it'southward the perfect corporeality of back up and something I've never noticed in another pair of shoes. I really came to appreciate it and noticed information technology multiple times.

- as I mentioned it was very wet and the business organization with any spikeless shoe is going to be grip. I tin can say that I never once slipped. This was a huge relief for me and is something I won't question in the hereafter. I call back amount of condom grips on the bottom are extremely effective.

I think one of the biggest compliments I can requite this pair of shoes is that throughout the round I didn't notice they were at that place. They are very lightweight and extremely comfortable. Not only did I play that many holes just I also had a little break in between rounds where I ran some errands and these were the perfect shoe to go from grade to coincidental wear.

Hither is the biggest point for me. I've had a lingering back result the past couple of months. I of the biggest considerations when playing is what shoes I should article of clothing to provide the most comfortable for my back. I've started some stretching and exercise which has helped out but it seems similar any time I would walk a grade I ended up in a lot of pain during and especially after the round. This was the first time in probably 3 months where I didn't have whatever back pain during and very little after. Heck today I woke up and for the outset time in probably three months didn't wince at all getting out of bed after a round of golf game the day before. I of course can't say that these shoes were the reason for that, the stretching and exercise is going to be the biggest Touch. However, I feel like the comfort and back up these provide really did help.

I'll continue updating as the season progresses just for anyone that'southward looking for a actually solid pair of spikeless golf shoes you should really give these a look. They have a skilful look, are comfortable and supportive and come in at a very solid price point. I would encourage everyone to check them out at Upkeep Golf game!

Today I played in a scramble and decided to wearable a different pair of shoes, in this case a spiked pair. Even with riding in a cart I experience similar my anxiety are fashion more tired than when I've worn these New Residuum. I think these may exist my new go to shoe.

Commencement of all thanks to my partner KEV for starting this thread and thank you to THP & Upkeep Golf game for the chance to effort these shoes out! He did such a adept job posting all the features and photos that I'grand going to jump correct into my review!

Manner
From a style perspective I think New Residuum hitting it out the park. I dearest the contrast created by the Black, that brilliant almost neon Green/Yellowish and the light grey. Speaking of that greyness the subtle pebbling across the vamp is cute! The shoe has a sleek and stylish appearance that keeps in line with the blueprint that New Balance is trending towards. While mud and dirt cleans hands from the surface I did choice up a bit of staining from where I spilled a minor amount of gatorade on the toe.

FIT
This shoe is so extremely light I had to weigh it against some of the others in my rotation and here were the results:

Shoe Weight
New Balance Minimus SL 306 grams
Foot Joy HyperFlex Two BOA 429 grams
Foot Joy Icon Black 537 grams

Every bit can exist seen the removal of the soft spikes and locking organisation results in a drastic loss of weight without sacrificing whatever cushioning. The shoe fits my brick feet (2E width) well and is extremely supportive throughout the swing. I've been fit in the past for New Rest running shoes and these experience slightly wider in comparisson to the same size runners. The big negative to this shoe is that the back of the shoe is more rigid than I am used to and despit existence cushioned diggs into my delicate princess ankles. For me, at to the lowest degree at the moment, this not a prove I could consider walking 18 holes in and demand to recollect carefully about what socks I'm wearing.

You lot can see in the video beneath how the back portion flexes vs a FootJoy shoe.

Function
Equally mentioned in a higher place the shoe is extremely low-cal, supportive and, except for the heel area, very comfortable. I've played a few rounds now in dry, wet, and abrasive conditions and in all scenarios my anxiety remained dry out and well grounded. I tin't remember a single instance where I felt slippage and wished I was wearing my spikes. In fact virtually cases I felt lower and more than continued to the ground and shot my best circular of the year in these.

The other thing I really similar is how easily these make clean upward. Wether it'southward mud or sand these are much easier to make clean than the Soft Spike shoes I normally wearable. The all-time case is when I played on a course that was LOADED with cottonwood. Check out how piece of cake it was to make clean mid circular and then imagine how information technology would take been wearing spikes

All in all this is a wonderful shoe that I am very delighted to review and own. The only nitpick is the rigidness in the heel, only once that breaks in a fleck I would difficult pressed to detect a error. New Remainder, and spikeless shoes in general, have turned me into a beliver!

Great stuff partner! I oasis't seen the same upshot that y'all're having with your princess ankles :act-upward: but that goes to bear witness that fit is such an individual thing. I but did that same comparison you did in your video to my spiked Nike TW71'due south and my Puma Biodrive spikeless. The Nike's are very similar in how stiff that section is and the Puma'southward were slightly softer, however I've walked 5x more rounds in those than the New Residual.

Information technology sounds like we are seeing like highlights from the shoe outside of that. I walked 9 holes last nighttime and my anxiety one time again felt great afterwards the circular. Now I'grand curious to run across how the rubber grips agree up over fourth dimension.

Quick Update

I bought a few different pair of socks and I think I found a winner - Played 18 and this time no pain in the ankle which really allowed me to appreciate this shoe for all it's worth. Despite a expert amount of wetness on the course I stayed ground and in control throughout every swing. These shoes, with my trouble solved, are extremely comfortable and I could take easily played another eighteen in them.

I've had a pair of these for a little over a month now, and am quite happy with them. I like the look, I got the black/red ones, and they are extremely light and comfortable. This is my first pair of spikeless golf game shoes, and I was concerned with how well they would grip, well so far it has been fantabulous. I've merely had them out in dry atmospheric condition, and so can't speak to how waterproof they are, or traction on moisture grass, but for the atmospheric condition I've had them in I accept admittedly nada to complain about.

Quick update, these have pretty much become my go to shoes. They are easily the most comfy shoes I take played in and oasis't lacked in grip at any indicate. Later on probably a dozen times on the class they are even so looking like new too which I can't say nigh some others I've had.

If anyone is looking for a killer shoe with a cracking price I would really consider these.

New Balance Minimus SL Golf Shoe - Review Thread

Can anyone tell me if they stretch a bit? (I hope they practice) I am in between sizes on these and i would prefer the smaller of the two which my large toe simply lightly touches the front of the toe box, could that stretch out?

Also can anyone comment on the clothing of the Spikeless if they walk all their rounds? I very seldom acquit and am weary of going Spikeless incase they wear out to fast. Obviously and already do avoid all cart paths and gravel when possible.

I guess it's possible that they could stretch but they fit really well for me right out of the box and then I'm non much help.

I tin annotate on the wear however. I walk the bulk of my rounds and the grips seem to be property up very well. In that location is some slight article of clothing toward the heel and in the center but I'm very happy with how they are holding up. I'm trying to upload a picture but Tapatalk is non letting me do that right now. I'll get some posted a little subsequently for you.
